I'm sorta new to this blog thing. Well, that's not true. I had one on myspace but I don't use myspace so much anymore, and facebook only allows for 1,000 characters of random thought. Clearly that is not enough space enough for me.
So I heard Raspberry Beret today on the way to work. Now, I don't know how many of you are Prince fans but really, you kinda should be. It doesn't matter if you don't like how he looks (to me, he's a throwback to Little Richard but at one time I guess he was deemed a hottie), or maybe you don't care much for his songs, or hate the fact that he changed his name to some weird symbol then changed it back because people hated it and no one knew what to call him... basically he's a musical master. His music is responsible for the Parents Advisory: Explicit Lyrics warning (thanks 'Little Nikki'). Did you know that he has written some pretty big hits- not even for himself? What are they you ask? Well, Manic Monday (The Bangles) and Nothing Compares 2U (Sinead O'Conner) for starters. He used a pseudonym. Christopher something I think. Anywho, I don't care who you are, you can't pass up singing Raspberry Beret (or Manic Monday for that matter) at the loudest volume you can muster. Sing it loudly 'cuz unless you have a CD you're not gonna hear it on youtube.
